Chapter 02 of 06

FORTY DAYS IN ONE TOWN

The mothership, the rooms, the Haywood Road ecosystem

The Programming

SOMETHING
EVERY DAY.
FOR 40 DAYS.

The doors open and they don't close. A film, a lesson, a lecture, a sermon, a set, a painting — every single day until the clock runs out.

01
Screenings & Talk-Backs

The Deer Trail plays, then the room stays. Filmmakers, retreaters and whoever's in the seats — open conversation, no moderator script.

02
Cannabis 101

A plain-English intro for people who've never touched it. What the cannabinoids actually do, what the labels mean, how to read a COA, how to start low.

03
How To Grow

Seed to harvest for beginners. Soil, light, water, patience. Taught by people who grow, not people who sell courses.

04
What If You Can't Buy It

The practical session for a world where the shelf goes empty — what the law says where you live, what your options are, and where the lines actually fall.

05
Lectures & Activists

Policy, history, enforcement, and the people who've spent careers on it. Dated, sourced, plain-spoken. Bring questions.

06
Pastors & Faith Voices

The conversation the church has avoided, held out loud. Preachers, chaplains and congregations working through the plant honestly.

07
Musicians

Past N9NE programs the nights — live sets, unannounced rooms, one-offs. We're shooting for Willie Nelson, and we'll say so out loud until we get an answer.

08
Artists & Live Painting

Patricc Reed's Live Painting Experience and a rotating wall — work made in front of you, finished by Day 0.

Programming is being booked now. Named artists and speakers are targets and invitations, not confirmations, until announced.

40/40 · the content engine

One question.
Every day.

One sourced fact. One human story. One 40-second answer. One song. One thing people can actually do.

DAY ZERO
THE PARTY IN HELL.

The Installations

LOVE FOR THE PLANT.
HATE FOR HOW THEY
LEGALIZED IT.

Part museum, part funhouse. Walk-through rooms built in the spirit of the Museum of Weed — the whole history, the facts, the paper trail, the absurdity — ending in a room where visitors write the future themselves. Filmed and streamed here for anyone who can't get to Asheville.

01
1937 — The Paper Trail

The Marihuana Tax Act. Not a health study, a stamp you could never get. The reefer-madness posters, the hearings, the newspaper clippings — framed and hung so you can read the panic in its own handwriting.

02
1970 — Schedule I

The Controlled Substances Act files a plant next to heroin and calls it settled science. The room where a filing cabinet became a criminal record for millions of people.

03
The Prisoner Wall

Names, sentences, years served. The arithmetic of prohibition, printed large. No commentary needed — the numbers do the arguing.

04
The Plant Lab

A living wall. Cannabinoid and terpene stations you can smell. What THCA, delta-9, CBD, CBN and CBG actually are, explained without a sales pitch.

05
The Legalization Room

Where love for the plant meets hate for how it got legalized. Licensing fees, seed-to-sale software, the operators who got rich and the growers who got squeezed out. Legal is not the same as free.

06
Write The Future

The last room is blank on purpose. Chalk, paint, and forty days of visitors writing what happens next. On Day 0 the wall is photographed and published.

Watch From Anywhere

EVERY ROOM. EVERY LECTURE.
STREAMED RIGHT HERE.

You should not have to live in a legal state to learn the history. Every installation walkthrough, talk-back and lecture gets posted to this site as it happens.

THE FINAL COUNTDOWN

A 40-day cultural revival built around a real American legal deadline. Asheville is the mothership. The story belongs to the people living it.

21+ where required. Never drive impaired. THC can harm animals; keep products away from pets. Psychedelic programming is education and conversation only. Product experiences, smoking and events are subject to local law, permissions, age controls and responsible-hosting standards.
